My First "On Sub" Journey

I am a little late with this post, but in October of this year my agent submitted my historical romantasy, The Curse of Mila Gojsalić, to our first round of editors. Such an exciting step in my author journey! After nearly two months of anxiously awaiting either rejection or a book deal, I thought I would share what I've learned (most of which taught to me by my agent and the writing community). I hope this helps other writers, and distracts me from checking my submission spreadsheet once every hour.

  1. Having an agent that shares information (the pitch letter, the submission list, etc.) is a REALLY good thing and a big green flag

  2. The lack of news is the worst part of the process

  3. Take any positives you can out of rejections (yes, I have received them already)

  4. Pitch events are amazing opportunities to put your book in front of editors

  5. Manifest, manifest, manifest

If anyone has any questions (or more advice for me) my DMs are always open! And check out my pitch below.
